You're not broken but you are stuck.
When you feel stuck in your life, you may experience a physical or emotional reaction that can include: ruminating thoughts, avoiding people and places, or just shutting down. These are ways your body protects you from a negative or traumatic experience in your past or your current situation. Being ‘stuck’ is a frustrating, limiting and painful place to be. Everything that you do – the reactions and behaviours you’re displaying – are acting to protect you from the unhealthy experience, and are a signal to you and others that you need help.
If you find yourself struggling with:
- The effects of childhood trauma
- Ongoing racism in your life
- Depression or sadness
- PTSD or trauma
- Finding happiness
- Relationship problems
- Low self-esteem
- Unhealthy coping strategies
- Feeling out of control with your emotions
- Grief and loss
- Trusting yourself
- Navigating disappointment and hurt
- Fear of making the wrong decisions
- Handling your child's behaviour
We provide the skills, tools, and support you need to feel better.

Who We Are
Reclaim Your Nature Psychotherapy
We believe in the transformative power of hope.
Our clients often come to us after trying many different methods to alleviate their struggles without success. Yet, they retain a sliver of hope that therapy will provide them with the solution they’ve been searching for. Our goal is to nurture this ember of optimism, allowing it to grow while we provide the skills, tools and support they need to start healing. Through this process, our clients are able to reclaim a sense of confidence in their ability to make choices that lead to living fuller, more connected lives.
The parallels between nature’s adaptability and our personal resilience to trauma have shaped our perspective on healing.
We help you Reclaim Your Nature and return to your true self.
With over 30 years of combined experience, we’ve built our practice on three core beliefs:
Hopeful
You are not broken
Empowered
You can heal
Connected

Frequently Asked Questions
Each therapist has different direct billing arrangements. We direct bill your insurance company for Alberta Blue Cross, Greenshield, NIHB/Express Scripts, RCMP, CAF, VAC, Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).
Upon payment, you will automatically receive a receipt for which you can immediately send to your insurance provider. Some insurance companies such as Sunlife, do not yet allow direct billing through the psychologist, but reimburse within a day or two.
We require that you cancel or change your appointment time at least 24 hours prior to the appointment. This allows clients that are on the waitlist to get in.
You will appreciate this and can take advantage of the waitlist if you are trying to get in at a specific time.
Our schedules can fluctuate and it is disappointing for therapists to be eager to help someone but not be able to fit someone in on short notice.
It is common that private clinic therapists are contractors and are only paid when they see clients. When the therapists prepare themselves to see you and do not, it is disappointing and can affect our pay. We appreciate being able to offer this service that we are so passionate about while supporting ourselves and our families.
Our fees for psychologists are $220 an hour for one-on-one sessions. We charge the same amount for things such as report writing and form completion. We do not charge extra for submitting direct billing claims.
We offer low cost alternatives such as EMDR group therapy which is $65 an hour ($135 for a 2 hour session).
Our fees for practicum students are $65 an hour for one-on-one sessions. Practicum students come to us after their course work for their Masters in counselling. The practicum students receive supervision and training from the Clinical Director so it is like the client has two people working on their case. Students can access sessions for free with our practicum student.
NIHB (First Nations) claims are paid out at $187 an hour for one-on-one sessions. Clients receive a discount and do not have to pay the remainder. First Nations clients receive this discount in the spirit of reciprocity and reconciliation.
Each therapist has a different threshold for ages due to competence and training. We see adolescents as young as 12 years old.
We are expanding our practice and will be hiring psychologists who work with younger children and who share our values and perspective. Please stay tuned for additional services.
During our first intake session, we will go over your rights as a client in terms of ethical considerations. Your therapist will gather information about your past, your current stressors and supports. With an in depth overview of the reason you came to therapy and other contributing issues in your life, we will collaboratively work on a treatment plan.
Each session, you describe your goals for that session. We may deal with the overarching issue or strategize dealing with current problems. We may do in depth trauma work or focus on mindset shifts. We may give you resources and teach you a bit about psychological influences that may be operating in your life. Sometimes it feels good to hear someone’s perspective on your situation especially if it is from a scientific frame.
Absolutely! If you can’t swear when describing disturbing things that have happened to you, when is it appropriate to swear?
We encourage expression of feelings with a flourish of vocabulary because swearing is known to reduce pain. We do ask that clients temper their volume to respect other offices; soundproofing can only go so far.
